Proper surface preparation is crucial before applying SEM Color Coat. It is of utmost importance that the surface being sprayed is thoroughly cleaned. After blow drying or towel drying, the surface should be cleaned with SEM 38343 Vinyl Prep or SEM 38353 Plastic Prep. In the case of plastic surfaces, a plastic adhesion promoter must be used. SEM 39863 Flexible Bonding Clear or SEM 38363 Sand Free are both effective options. Following the manufacturer's instructions, these adhesion promoters should be applied. Once the surface has been properly prepared, the Color Coat can be applied in light, even coats. It is recommended to apply several light coats, with a waiting time of 5-10 minutes between each coat, as this method produces better results compared to applying one heavy coat.

These clear coats can be applied according to instructions provided. The Color Coat will typically be dry to the touch within approximately 10 minutes. However, it is advised to avoid subjecting the substrate to heavy abuse or abrasion for a minimum of 24 hours after application to ensure optimal results and longevity.
